Tamil civilians in Batticaloa take to the streets against LTTE sympathizers in London.
The demonstrators said it was the President who brought real freedom and peace to the Sri Lankan Tamil population which was battered by terrorism for 30 years. The fate of the Tamil children who dedicated their future on behalf of Prabhakaran’s so called Eelam State lies in the hands of the President. These Tamil protestors emphasized that the future of the Tamil children would be bright under the rule of the President. The Batticaloa polity stressed that they do not endorse the protests staged by the LTTE sympathizers abroad against a State leader who fulfils the responsibilities of the Tamils. Vast development was now taking place in the North and East. The Eastern civilians are now reaping the benefits of development they had not hitherto witnessed. They claimed that they cannot permit the Tamil Diaspora to reverse this process. During the demonstration, they underscored that they would unite to defeat any effort made by the Tiger loyalists to destroy their as well as the lives of their children through conspiracies. The protest campaign which commenced from the Hindu College was joined by a large group.
