Minister Dulles Alahapperuma is prepared to inject new life to the National Youth Services Council on behalf of the youth fraternity numbering over five million. His plans are to increase the three million membership by 12 percent by next year.
The Minister said that the main obligation of this Youth Parliament was to look into how the motherland could be developed through concerted efforts.
The Minister was addressing a three-day workshop for the newly elected representatives for the Youth Parliament. It was held at the Janakala Centre in Battaramulla. Minister Vasudeva Nanayakkara delivered a special address today. Deputy Minister Duminda Dissanayake and Chairman of the National Youth Services Council Lalith Piyum Perera were among those present.
