No pardon for the Opposition

Minister Johnston Fernando has said that the people do not forgive the opposition that betrays the war heroes and the country.

The Minister opined that Karu Jayasuriya made a decision at the correct time and supported he government. When the government was about to win the war he returned to the UNP thinking that the government would lose the war. Thereafter he has issued a document that would betray the country. He said that thereafter he is issuing regrettable statements in Parliament. The Minister stressed the history shows that people in this country have not forgiven those who betrayed the country.

The Minister expressed these views at the distribution of equipment and books to preschool children in the Dodangaslanda Division in Kurunegala. It was organized by the Nilwala Foundation of Parliamentarian Nimal Wijesinghe.

Giving his views Parliamentarian Namal Rajapksa said the youth should support the massive development projects irrespective of party differences. A peaceful atmosphere has been created in which all communities can live as a free nation. He said that to protect this environment and freedom as well as the education of children, a family centered society based on religion and wholesome values had to be created.
