Minister Anura Yapa has said that their aim is to encourage small and medium scale industrialists to make Sri Lanka the top exporter of gem and jewellery to the world market.
He said that the persons employed at all levels until the gems are used in jewelleries should be brought together. He said that the exhibition was meant to bring the market and the buyers together. The Minister stressed that the aim of the Government is to make Sri Lanka a centre of gem and jewellery in South East Asia.
