The value of the rupee has risen. The Governor of the Central Bank Ajith Nivard Cabral has said that the rupee is appreciating with the development of the economy.
He said that during the past few months after the terrorist war there the rupees has shown a tendency of appreciating. This is due to the high level of inflows in to the country. He said that this has been managed in such a way there has been no rapid movement of currency. It has allowed industrialists and those who do business with the country to adjust to the situation in a gradual manner. This situation is expected to continue. He said that their expectation is to see improvement in general levels of productivity.
