Information has come to light on three Provincial Council Members who received bribes to provide appointments in the health sector.

Minister Maitiripala Sirisena said that disciplinary inquiries will be held against them. The Minister said that he has received evidence regarding the acceptance of bribes by these three Provincial Council members and those appointments were cancelled. He said that the unemployed persons had credited money to their bank accounts. The Minister said that the bank receipts are with him and he will produce these at the Central Committee meeting on Tuesday to take disciplinary action against them.

The Minister made this revelation while presenting Health Service appointments covering all districts. Ministers Susil Premajayantha, A.H.M. Fowzie, Dulles Alahapperuma, Deputy Minister M.K.D.S. Gunawardena and Parliamentarian Thilanga Sumathipala participated in the occasion. The newly appointed employees will receive a salary of 22 Thousand rupees initially.
