More foreign jobs for youths

Opportunities will be available for the Sri Lankan youths in the foreign employment market. Minister Dallas Allahapperuma revealed of a plan launched to reduce the unemployment rate.

The Minister opined that    a programme will be mooted to provide vocational training next year for the youth. There are 25.7 percent trained personnel in the foreign employment market.  This, he said could be increased to 50 percent in three years.  The Minister expressed these views participating in the ‘2010 Pawrushabhimani  Nite’ of the National Youth Force. The new flag and the website of the Youth Force were introduced at this ceremony. Youths who have completed vocational training were presented certificates and awards under the patronage of the Minister. Chief Minister of the Western Province Prasanna Ranatunga, Finance Secretary Dr. P.B. Jayasundara, Director General of the Government Information Department Prof. Ariyaratna Ethugala and former Army Commander General . Rohan Daluwatta were present.
