The Colombo High Court has today (16) decided to accept the video footage presentedd to court by a private electronic media institution on the controversial “white flag” case against former Army Commander and DNA Leader Sarath Fonseka.
The Colombo High Court had today announced that it would accept the video evidence in the case against Fonseka, despite objections raised by the defence.
High Court Judge Deepali Wijesundera, who heads the three judge bench hearing the case, had said that the footage will be accepted and further examination of the evidence will take place when the case is taken up again on January 6 next year.
The video footage carries parts of a speech made by Fonseka at a rally in Ratnapura during the Presidential election campaign.
Defence Attorney Nalin Ladduwahetty had objected to the video footage saying the original copy of the speech should be presented to court.
