The first wildlife museum of the country that comprises models of many animal species has been setup in Giritale.
The Museum is setup in the premises of the Wildlife Field Training Centre at Giritale in Polonnaruwa. Minister S.M. Chandrasena inaugurated the museum. A large number of people will have the opportunity to view the museum during the school vacation. 125 models of animal species are being exhibited in the museum. It also educates about animals, endemic to the country. Meanwhile the Minister chaired a function to handover appointment letters to 74 officials who followed a diploma course in Wildlife Management at the National Wildlife Training Centre.
