SL Sailors From Hijacked Ship To Return

Dec 22, 2010 3:48:26 AM - thesundayleader.lk

A group of Sri Lankan sailors who were held hostage by Somali pirates are to return to Sri Lanka tomorrow (23).

The local representative of the shipping company Captain, S. H. R. Kumar has told the local media that the 11 sailors who were held hostage for close to 10 months by the Somali pirates will return to the country tomorrow.

According to Captain Kuamr, the Sri Lankan sailors have already left the Omani port of Salalah and were heading for the capital Muscat where they are scheduled to board a flight to Colombo.

The Saudi vessel Al Nisr was hijacked by Somali pirates on March 8 this year and was released on December 7 after the ship owner paid a ransom to the pirates.
