The fuel price in the world market has soared. The price of a barrel of oil which stood at 83 dollars in the world market has now increased to 91 dollars.
A barrel of diesel which cost 93 dollars has surged to 102 dollars. Discussions are already in place to purchase stocks annually instead of making purchases monthly.
In a statement, Minister Susil Premajayantha said that if the talks that are now in progress in several countries including Oman and Saudi Arabia, they would be able to pass on its benefits to the consumer.
