The Disaster Management Centre has called upon the Sri Lankans to observe a two minute silence to commemorate those who lost their lives in the Tsunami and the other disasters.
December 26th has been declared the National Defence Day following a Cabinet decision. “Towards a safer Sri Lanka” is this year’s theme. A large number of programmes will be held throughout the country to observe the day. The Disaster Management Centre has requested the people to observe a two minute silence from 9.25 a.m. to 9.27 a.m. in commemoration of those who lost their lives due to disasters.
