Abans, sole agents in Sri Lanka for Jialing motorcycles has launched a loyalty programe for their Jialing motor cycle customers.
Abans confer a lifetime free of charge membership to Jialing Motor Cycle Club to each customer who buys a Jialing motorcycle. The club comprises Jialing motorcycle owners islandwide and has been formed with the intention of providing them with benefits as a part of Abans’ Customer Loyalty Programme.
Members will be entitled to spare parts discounts, free services, gifts such as caps, T-shirts, helmets, jackets, etc. Members will have the opportunity of participating in Jialing motorcycle rallies and other outdoor events organized by the club.
Abans hopes to link-up with other service providers to give members more facilities and also provide them more benefits such as discounts on oil, tyres, batteries and other accessories.
Jialing Motor Cycle Club is the first and only such loyalty programme launched in Sri Lanka by any motorcycle brand. While other motorcycle agents only think of promoting sales, Abans expect to build a long term relationship with their motorcycle customers and provide them with value added services.
Abans, the market leader in Electronics and Home Appliances in Sri Lanka entered the motorcycle industry by introducing Hero Stream 49 cc mopeds manufactured in India by Hero five years ago and became the market leader in that category with record sales. With this success, Abans ventured to introduced a range of motorcycles manufactured in China under Jialing brand. Jialing is one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers in China and China’s No.1 Motorcycle brand.
At a time when low quality Chinese motorcycles were flooding the market, Abans wanted to make sure that they provided only the best quality motorcycles to their customers.
Although Jialing motorcycles are manufactured in China, they have a technical collaboration agreement with Honda Motor Cycle Company Japan since 1981 and all Jialing motorcycles are manufactured with Honda technology and conform to Honda’s high norms of quality and performance.
This accounts for the success of Jialing motorcycles in Sri Lanka compared to other Chinese brands, which resulted in motorcycle importers in Sri Lanka cancelling motorcycle imports from China last year (2009) due to high prices and low profitability. Even so, Abans wase able to continue importing Jialing motorcycles due to their excellent performance and affordability which created a market demand for Jialing motorcycles in Sri Lanka. Seeing demand growth and excellent brand image, Abans introduced more models of Jialing motorcycles to the market. Affordable prices and interest free easy payment terms offered to customers and an efficient after sales service increased their market share. Last year Abans established exclusive motorcycle showrooms islandwide under the 3S concept of sales, spareparts and service.
