More lTTE cadres who had been rehabilitated have been handed over to their parents and relatives.

The handing over of 100 rehabilitated LTTE cadres took place today under the patronage of Ministers Dew Gunasekera and Chandrasiri Gajadeera. At the ceremony at the Cultural Centre in Vavuniya, the rehabilitated LTTE cadres presented a Carol service. A notable feature was the opportunity received by Sivasubramaniam, one of the LTTE cadres handed over to the relatives, to pursue studies at the Jaffna University. After rehabilitation, Subramaniam received an appointment to teach at the Wattaapola Vidyalaya. He was able to receive the shelter of his father after three years symbolizing the Christmas peace and freedom message.

One of them said “My birth place was Kilinochchi. I received an opportunity during the rehabilitation process to pursue studies. I am now a teacher excelled in Art subject. I am very much grateful to the President who provided me a permanent job while ensuring my future security.”
