The LLRC expects to hear from Wickremesinghe, the reasons for signing the ceasefire agreement (CFA) in February 2002 between the Sri Lankan government and the LTTE.
Wickremesinghe when contacted by the secretary to the LLRC, S.B. Atugoda had said the chairman and members of the commission had to make an official request for him to appear before it.<p>
Wickremesinghe has told the media that he was answerable to parliament and if the commission wanted to have him before it, they had to make a request.
The LLRC has been tasked to examine the facts and circumstances which led to the failure of the CFA that was in effect from February 21, 2002 and the sequence of events that followed thereafter up to May 19, 2009, when the war ended.
