The Government is contemplating on introducing a distant education system during the absence of teachers in classrooms. Minister Bandula Gunawardena said the courses will be prepared by the National Education Institute and telecast for the children to follow.
The Minister said that a programme of distant education has already been launched in 1000 selected schools in the Island under the “Nenasa” programme. This system is being implemented when there is no teacher for a certain subject or during the absence of teachers. He said that it is expected to extend the programme to other schools as well
