A driver has been charged with driving under the influence after a Mecklenburg County car crash that killed a South Carolina woman.
Multiple media outlets report that that 24-year-old Hannah Floyd of Chester, S.C., was a passenger in a car that hit a utility pole at around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
The driver of that car, Maegan Dacus, lost control on in the icy interstate and slid off Interstate 85, crashing into a utility pole. Troopers say weather conditions and alcohol contributed to the crash
Authorities say Dacus was injured and was still listed Monday in serious condition at Carolina Medical Center.
Floyd graduated two weeks ago from Winthrop University. She was one of four people killed in weekend weather-related accidents in North Carolina.
