The Health Ministry has issued instructions to take appropriate measures to provide the AH1N1 vaccine to expected mothers before Friday.
Senior Epidemiologist Dr. Sudath Peiris of the Health Ministry said that it has been identified that expected mothers are a risk group to this pandemic. The disease has been mainly reported from the Colombo area. 342 AH1N1-infected patients had been treated at countrywide Government Hospitals. According to Health Ministry, the disease has already claimed 22 lives.
