President Rajapaksa says that “Deyata Kirula” should be made crown of the people.
The President said that the Deyata Kirula should not be limited to solely an exhibition. It should be used to realize the development goals of the people. The President was speaking at a discussion on the 2011 Deyata Kirula Exhibition at Temple Trees. This mega exhibition is being organized at Buttala, in the Moneragala District. The President issued instructions to implement the schemes undertaken in parallel to the Exhibition, as long-term projects to suit needs of the people. Priority should be given to the needs of the people, rather than decorations. It should not be limited only to the Deyata Kirula Exhibition. Many of the development projects have reached the final stages.
The President asserted that the final results of all these projects should be reaped by the people. The President pointed out that as a Government which takes decision focusing attention on the people, was dedicated to the maximum to work for the welfare of the people. Ministers Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Jagath Pushpakumara and Sumedha Jayasena, Uva Chief Minister Shashindra Rajapaksa and President’s Secretary Lalith Weeratunge were present at this discussion.
