The government has allocated millions of rupees to provide relief to flood victims and to construct houses that have been damaged due to the current adverse weather conditions in several districts.
The Disaster Management Ministry has so far spent over Rs. 300 million to provide relief to the flood victims last year and has allocated Rs. 200 million to construct houses that were damaged due to the heavy winds and rains experienced in the past few days.
The Disaster Management Center statistics has revealed that while Rs 40 million had been spent for relief in the month of May, Rs 50 million had been spent for relief for flood victims in June and Rs 20 million had been spent in November.
