The Government has crafted plans to earn a revenue of two billion US dollars from the Computer technology sector within the next five years. Its aim is also to generate 200 thousand new jobs.
Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said their intention was to improve Computer technology up to 75 percent in the next five years. By this time, the revenue that can be earned would be two billion US dollars. In parallel, it is expected to create 200,000 new jobs. Another aim was to bring computer technology much closer to the public sector. The Minister added that another objective was to encourage individuals of any stature or whatever language they speak, to use computer technology for their benefit.
