The Social Security Board aims to provide pensions for more than three million self-employed people this year.
The aim of the programme is to secure the future of self-employed people. The Social Security Board said that under the new programme more than three million workers who are not entitled to a pension would get benefits. At present, more than 400,000 self-employed people have joined the scheme.
The President has instructed the Social Security Board to take speedy measures to increase the number up to three million. The Social Security Board further said that awareness programmes would be conducted to inform the public about the new programme.
