A ferry service has been launched in the Eastern sea for the benefit of the people. The launching of the ferry service between Trincomalee and Mutur which was paralysed due to terrorism, commenced at an auspicious time.
The people of Mutur, Thopur and Seruwila areas faced immense difficulties as the ferry service between Trincomalee and Mutur was paralysed. Even the tourists visiting these areas experienced hardships. Drawing his attention to this issue, the President at the Eastern Province progress review meeting in Trincomalee, instructed the relevant officials to take the initiative of resuming this service. Accordingly, the Freedom Employees Company of the Freedom Employees Union affiliated to the Ports Authority, resumed this ferry service. Several Parliamentarians of the Eastern province were present at the resumption of the service.
