A Richland County school resource officer has been rehired after domestic violence charges against him were dismissed, Sheriff Leon Lott said today.
Charges against Antonio Sessions, 25, were dropped last month.
Sessions, who lived in Lexington County, was terminated last May after that countys deputies arrested him. He was accused of pushing his wife to the floor and choking her during an argument. Lexington County deputies arrested Sessions after his wife called 911 from a neighbor's apartment and reported the fight.
Lott said that the department had to terminate Sessions after he was arrested because he cant continue working if theres an outstanding criminal charge against him.
An internal investigation by his department indicated there wasnt enough evidence for the criminal charges against Sessions to stand, said Lott.
