A programme is being launched to provide information required by those who seek foreign employment. Chairman of the Foreign Employment Bureau Kingsley Ranawaka said that it is being implemented through the Government Information Centre.
He said that the Bureau is implementing a number of programmes to provide information to workers who wish to find employment abroad. It is expected to provide speedy information through the programme. The workers will be able to find out whether an agency is registered, the salary that can be expected and the maximum fees that can be charged by the Agency by calling 1919 .
He was speaking during an inspection tour of the operation room of the Government Information Centre. The Chairman said that they will be able to render a broad based service jointly with the popular 1919 information service of the Government Information Centre.
