The government has granted approval to the Economic Development Ministry’s rural economic division to implement 32,536 development programmes in 10,567 Grama Seva divisions in the country.
The programmes are to be held under the village awakening programme initiated by Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa.
The government has allocated Rs. 1,339,040 million for the entire project and Rs. 637,831 million has already been spent on development projects under the initiative.
