The Government’s programme of providing Triposha free of charge to expectant mothers and nutritional deficient children will be further strengthened. The Thriposha factory located in Kandana has been brought under the Health Ministry from yesterday.
Health Ministry statistics indicate there are about 750 thousand nutritional deficient children and expectant mothers in Sri Lanka. The Triposaha factory was established with the aim of providing them nutritional food. It hitherto operated under the management of the Ceylon Tobacco Corporation and under the supervision of the Health Ministry. It began operations from yesterday as Sri Lanka Triposha Limited. Speaking on this occasion, Minister Maithripala Sirisena said that the era has begun to bring under the Government’s purview which the Government had hitherto lost. He pointed out that this process is being carried out under the guidance of the President. Minister Felix Perera and Deputy Minister Lalith Dissanayake were present.
