Private Bus Operators Association (PBOA) has decided to launch a token strike within the Western Province commencing from midnight today (10).
The decision to strike was reached yesterday (9) following a meeting of private bus operators in the Western Province.
The token strike demanding for a Rs. 1 increase in the minimum bus fare will be staged by the PBOA and the All Ceylon Private Bus Owners’ Association.
However, the PBOA had earlier told the media that the Association was not going to hold the strike as the Western Province Passenger Transport Authority has agreed to one of the key demands put forward by the private bus operators.
