About 240 weather-related vehicular wrecks have been reported so far today, according to a spokesman with the Emergency Management Division.
Those wrecks and other weather-related emergencies are being worked by about 1,300 Department of Transportation workers and 357 officers from the State Law Enforcement Division, Highway Patrol and the Department of Natural Resources. Meanwhile, the Department of Transportation continues to put down salt, sand and brine on the state's roads.
"The crews are out there with plows and the salt and brine trucks, trying to get to as many roads as they can," said Derrec Becker of the state Emergency Management Division. "It takes some time though. This system dumped a lot of snow on the state very quickly."
