Wreck caused by ice causes huge delays on I-26

Newberry County Sheriff Lee Foster says a wreck involving two tractor trailers caused by ice on Interstate 26 will likely mean long delays for people traveling from Columbia to Greenville or Spartanburg.
Foster says the wreck about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday blocked the westbound lanes of I-26 near mile marker 63 for a time. One lane has reopened, but Foster expects lengthy delays.
He says officers can't create a detour because secondary roads in the county are too icy for heavy traffic.
Troopers say the trucks were driving side-by-side when one hit ice and slid into the other.
The driver of one truck was taken to the hospital for treatment.
