A special committee has been appointed to provide immediate relief to the flood affected in Anuradhapura.
The Anuradhapura District Special Disaster Relief Committee will operate under the guidance of North Central Chief Minister Bertie Premalal Dissanayake. All Parliamentarians and Provincial Ministers of the District, the District Secretary, Divisional Secretaries and Security Chiefs including the DIG come under this committee. It main task is to grant immediate relief after looking into the need of the affected families. The Chief Minister headed a group which monitored the Thirippane Eru Tank in Anuradhapura which is on the verge of breach.
