Measures are being taken to develop 100 schools in the North.
The schools will be developed in the next two years. The project is planned by the Nippon Foundation of Japan and Seva Lanka Foundation. The expenditure to be incurred will be 141 million rupees. The Government is launching various programmes to develop the schools destroyed by the terrorists. The relevant agreement was signed at the Presidential Secretariat under the patronage of Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa. Governor of the Northern Province G.A. Chandrasiri and President of the Seva Lanka Foundation Harsha Kumara Navaratne were amongst those who participated in the occasion.
