LANCASTER COUNTY -- An elderly man walked away from his home and was found dead Thursday about a mile away, police say.
James H. Brown, 84, of Wyatt Brown Road was found dead in a wooded area approximately one mile from his home around 9 a.m. Thursday, according to a release from the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators learned Brown was last seen at home on around 5 p.m. Wednesday by family members. It was reported that Brown was in good health but was being treated for some Dementia-related issues, the release states.
Family members contacted the Sheriffs Office Thursday morning reporting that Brown was missing and requested assistance. Deputies and investigators responded to assist in the search. Not long after their arrival, a family member reported finding Brown's body.
Although it is early in the investigation, there appears to be no criminal related activity surrounding Brown's death.
