The atmospheric disturbance over Sri Lanka has completely eased. However, the Duty Caster at the Met Department Damyanthi Indiketihewage said rains will continue in a number of areas due to obstructions in the atmosphere.
She said that intermittent rains will be experienced in many areas in the country including the Eastern, Northern, North-Central, North Western and Central Provinces. Minor showers will be experienced in the other areas. Strong winds may be experienced in the coastal areas and the areas off the coast. Intermittent rain will prevail over the seas. The Eastern seas will experience winds from the East and north-easterly directions and the remaining areas from the North and North Westerly directions. The wind speed will be 20 to 40 kilometres per hour and it may increase up to 50-60 kilometres per hour.
