The Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) has decided to postpone its sittings planned in the Ampara District this month.
LLRC Secretary S.P. Athugoda has told the media that the Commission had decided to postpone sittings in the Ampara District due to the floods experienced in the area and the displacement of civilians in the district.
The LLRC sittings in Ampara District were scheduled to take place from January 21 till 25. According to Athugoda, a new date would be set by the Commission to hold its sittings in Ampara.
The LLRC is to hold sessions in the Anuradhapura District from January 28 till the 30th.
