The second stock of donations collected by the Independent Television Network has been dispatched to Welikanda.
Donations including dry rations, clothing and drugs given by ITN viewers were dispatched to Welikanda this afternoon. The first stock was sent to Batticaloa recently. ITN wishes to announce that it is still collecting assistance from donors for the benefit of the flood victims. Dry rations, drugs and clothing can be handed over to the head office at Wickramasinghepura in Battaramulla, and to the Marketing division at Baudhaloka Mawatha in Colombo.
Meanwhile, the Bakery Owners’ Association has come forward to donate 50 thousand buns for the flood victims. The handing over of the stock to Minister Johnston Fernando took place at the Trade Ministry today.
The Presidential Secretariat is also collecting aid for the benefit of the victims of the disaster. The National Lotteries Board handed over 1.2 million rupees worth of dry rations to the Presidential Secretariat today.
