The Government is allocating 110 million rupees to renovate irrigation systems in the Batticaloa district.
Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said that finance has been allocated and advice was given to renovate the irrigation systems to normalize the water supply during the next cultivation season. The Minister who made an inspection tour of the Undichchiya and Rugam reservoirs said that all irrigation projects will be renovated before next March. Secretary to the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resource Management Ivan de Silva and Director General of Irrigation Dr. G.G.A. Godaliyadde accompanied the Minister.
