The Rajamaha Vihare in Bellanwila joins the programme mooted by the Independent Television Network to help flood victims.
The Vihare handed over dry rations, clothing and medicinal drugs collected by the Dayaka Sabha of the Vihare and the residents, to ITN. The donation is worth around 600 thousand rupees. Present on the occasion was President of the Dayaka Sabha of the Vihare Chandra Kodisinghe.
Meanwhile, a stock of milk food, drugs and rice was handed over by the Inland Revenue Regional Office in Ratnapura, to ITN this morning. These activities took place under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner M.J. Gunasiri.
The ITN’s relief programme is continuously receiving support from the public and private sectors. Donations gathered for dispatch to Batticaloa and Welikanda recently. Those who intend to hand over donations for the third stage can do so. These are being received at the ITN head office at Wickramasinghepura in Battaramulla and at the Marketing Division at Baudhaloka Mawatha in Colombo.
