President Rajapaksa pays obeisance at the historic Nagadeepa. It is the first time that a state leader had visited Nagadeepa after several years.
After paying obeisance at the Nagadipa Rajamaha Vihare, the President laid the foundation stone for the proposed museum to be constructed at the Vihare premises. A large crowd including school children of the area thronged the Nagadipa sacred area to have a glimpse at the President. Among them were children of the Nagadipa Maha Vidyalaya, the Nagadipa Primary School and the Naga-Pooshana School. The President spared time to have a cordial chat with the children. Thereafter, the President paid obeisance at the Naga-Pooshana Amman Kovil. The devotees there had a very keen enthusiasm on welcoming the President and talking to him.
