A homeless man who died in a downtown park over the weekend does not have any known family members in the area, and officials are asking for help in finding them.
Bryan Gilbert Williamson, 50, died of natural causes, Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said. His body was found Saturday in Maxcy Gregg Park. He also had a dog that was found with him, Watts said.
Personal items found in Williamson's possession indicate he had connections in New Mexico and Oklahoma.
The dog, a collie/retriever mix, has been turned over to animal control.
Anyone with information about a possible next of kin is asked to call the Richland County Coroner's office at (803) 576-1799.
