The Independent Television Network takes another step forward on behalf of entertaining its viewers. It has launched another studio complex which will be equipped with modern technology.
ITN launched its transmissions 32 years back. Thereafter, the Thevis Guruge Studio was the only facility that was available at the beginning. At a time when 32 years had passed in the local Television chronicles, ITN had succeeded in bringing information and entertainment to the media armed with three channels and four most modern studios. The launching of a new studio with digital technology took place today with the aspiration of enhancing the entertaining provided to its viewers. The foundation stone was laid for this complex today.
ITN Chairman Rosmond Senaratne described the event as a further step of the Independent Television Network. They had to traverse a long journey. As a responsible media institution, ITN was adhering to the letter giving priority to national development. This, he emphasized was their dedication and obligation.
Shouldering the national task, ITN was joining hands with modern technology after entering a new era with two TV channels and three radio channels, winning awards consecutively as the leading channel in the country, winning the hearts of the people.
The Ven. Elle Gunawansa Thera said they frequently heard of the good and bad about mass media. He pointed out tht he had not heard of criticisms leveled aginst the Independent Television Network.
The foundation stone which was laid today for the new studio complex, always safeguarding the trust placed by the people, will in the very near future become a reality providing knowledge, entertainment and political information to the entire nation.
