The University Grants Commission (UGC) has been ordered to consider all appeals submitted with regard to University admissions.
Applications closed on the 14th of this month. However, applications are still being directed due to the adverse weather conditions which prevailed in several parts of the country. Accordingly, Minister S.B. Dissanayake said that the University Grants Commission has been instructed to provide an opportunity for all applications which accompany appeals. The Minister was responding to a query raised by Anura Kumara Dissanayake in Parliament today. Instructions have also been given to accept applications which are being forwarded after the re-scrutinizing of Advanced Level answer scripts. 67 thousand 600 applications were issued for University admission this time. Last year, the figure was 62 thousand 390.
