The Colombo Stock Exchange today closed at a record high.
Securities and Exchange Commission sources said the Colombo Bourse recorded its highest ever All Share Price Index of 7,193.10 points. A keen enthusiasm is being displayed locally as well as internationally for investment in the Stock Market with the economy expanding in several spheres. The attention of International Economic Analysts has been drawn to the surge in the Colombo Bourse, at a time where the Stock Markets of many countries were suffering setbacks. According to CSE reports, the ASPI stood at 7,193.1, an increase of 1.91 percent when compared to the previous day 7,058.33. The Milanka Price Index too increased by 0.72 percent from 7,248.20 to 7,300.68.
