The Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) is ready to seek evidence from civilians who were living in terrorist-threatened villages during the war.
Chairman of the Commission and President’s Counsel C.R. de Silva said they planned to initially record evidence from villagers in the Anuradhapura District. Plans are afoot to embark on this work as soon as possible after allocating the days. It is also hoped to record evidence from members of the Voluntary Organisations who were engaged in welfare programmes in villages that were threatened by terrorists.
