Charleston County officials are trying to eliminate separation anxiety - at least when it comes to recycling.
The county begins a pilot program Monday at 4,600 homes of what's called single-stream recycling.
Residents no longer have to separate paper and metal and plastic in separate recycling bins. Instead, all recycling goes in a large blue rolling cart, similar to a rolling garbage can.
The idea is to make it easier for people to recycle. County officials also say using one blue cart per household helps to keep neighborhoods neater.
