Fire has heavily damaged a 175-year-old building in Winnsboro that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The fire at the Thespian Hall started around 1 a.m. Sunday. The brick building housed a restaurant on the ground floor and had storage on the second floor.
Winnsboro Public Safety Maj. William Gonzalez says a volunteer firefighter broke his leg when he slipped on some ice.
It took more than 45 firefighters about four hours to get the fire under control.
Gonzalez says the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
