A Branchville man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole after pleading guilty to killing two Columbia men more than a year ago.
The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg reported that David Ryan Ott was sentenced by Circuit Judge Jack Early after Monday's plea in Barnwell.
Ott had been charged with murder in both Orangeburg and Bamberg counties in the December 2009 shooting deaths of 26-year-old Lakquan James and 30-year-old Chance Bennett.
Bamberg County deputies say Ott led Branchville investigators to both bodies. Bennett's body was found in a trunk in Orangeburg County, while James was found in woods off a rural road in Bamberg County.
