We've added 204 records of health inspections for restaurants, bars, cafeterias and other eateries in Kershaw, Lexington and Richland counties.
The inspections were carried out between Dec. 17, 2010, and Jan. 21 by Department of Health and Environmental Control inspectors.
Twenty-seven area establishments in that period earned exceptional scores between 98 and 100 on unannounced, routine inspections.
Eleven locations received B-level scores between 78 and 87 on their routine inspections and six earned Cs with scores between 62 and 75. All those establishments had or will have the opportunity to improve marks with follow-up inspections. The lowest follow-up score in this period was an A-worthy 89, for the Carolina Grill, Bar & Buffet on Plumbers Road in Columbia, inspected on Jan. 20. Eateries with scores of 88 or higher on routine or follow-up inspections may post an "A" in public view.
