The International Federation of the Red Cross is supporting in rebuilding civilian life paralysed as a result of floods.
The President of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Tadateru Konoi paid a courtesy call on President Rajapaksa at Temple Trees yesterday. Konoi is in the island to assist relief operations in the flood-affected areas. He visited the North and inspected the progress of the housing project launched with Red Cross assistance. He also inquired into the needs of the flood victims. He discussed with the President the experiences he gained during the visit. Among those present were Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga.
