Bond has again been denied for a tow truck operator investigators say shot a Bluffton man during a Christmas Eve dispute over a parking violation.
A judge on Friday denied the request from 27-year-old Preston Oates. Prosecutors said Oates would be a danger to the community.
Oates was arrested Dec. 27 and charged with manslaughter in the shooting death of 34-year-old Carlos Olivera.
Prosecutors say Olivera was shot six times on Christmas Eve when the two men argued about a parking boot that Oates had put on Olivera's minivan. Sheriff P.J. Tanner says both men were armed at the time of the shooting.
Oates has said that he had acted in self defense. Prosecutors say surveillance footage shows Olivera walking away when Oates fired the first rounds.
